Welcome to the homepage of the project Vendel.

Let us introduce you to the purpose of this project, which was founded in January 2013. Our goal is to provide the reader with a cohesive image of life during the Vendel Period (cca. 550-800 AD) through the newest scientific research. First of all, we will make you familiar with the very essence of the information sources. Then, we will put the Vendel Period into the Scandinavian and European context and subsequently you will have the possibility to read the articles which reconstruct the life during this period. This project is supplemented by an archeological database of sources and secondary literature. We will keep you updated on reconstructions of single objects. Unfortunately, our website does not support other languages than Czech, apart from the abstracts of our articles.
